The College of American Pathologists (CAP), celebrating 50 years as the gold standard in laboratory accreditation, is a medical society serving more than 17,000 physician members and the global laboratory community. The Senior Security Specialist will be responsible for information systems security and related initiatives at the CAP. This exciting position will be viewed as a subject matter expert for all things security-related, and will help lead the CAP into a new security model and security infrastructure based on the latest technology. The primary responsibilities of the senior security specialist will be to oversee and participate directly in security-related technology implementations and associated configurations, working with various team members to execute day-to-day security processes, procedures, and communications, and to serve as a key resource to other team members in the context of information systems security and best practices.
In order to be considered for this role, a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a minimum of 5-7 years of equivalent experience is required, ideally with 3-5 years of experience in information services and applications security with a proven track record of successful implementations and enhancements. The candidate will also need to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated, and possess strong project, planning, and support skills. Knowledge of Oracle’s Identity and Access Management Suite of products is a plus and strongly desired.
